More than 100,000 marine animal deaths are caused each year when marine animals mistake plastic shopping bags in the ocean for food. These plastic bags cost money to clean up; California alone spends $8.5 million on removing plastic bags from the streets. Individuals think that they can recycle plastic bags, but only 1% of plastic bags end up being recycled. By using reusable bags you’re helping the environment and your community.
3. Declutter Your House and Save Space
Plastic bags can take up a lot of space, often causing clutter. Those plastic bags end up cluttering your kitchen cabinets, your pantry, your car, and other various spots around the house. It’s very easy to accumulate 20-50 plastic bags. 3-5 reusable bags can replace those plastic bags, and they can be neatly folded to take up less space.

It’s no surprise that plastic bags are flimsy and prone to breaking. Reusable bags are durable; therefore, they can carry more items at once without the fear of the handles breaking. Because of how durable reusable bags are, they can be used for multiple occasions and not just getting groceries. You can pack your lunch in them, use them to carry snacks on a road trip, take books to and from the library, or take them to the beach.
